HCSO: Deputies confronted by armed woman

Hall County sheriff’s deputies were confronted by an armed woman when they answered a call earlier this week to a house in West Hall but after about half-an-hour they were able to arrest the woman without incident.

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NARRATIVE:

“At approximately 8:35 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 23, Hall County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call about a dispute in progress in the 4000 block of Heidi Lane.

According to the initial investigation, Jade Taylor Aroyo, 24, of Gainesville, was on the front porch of the home and fired a shot from a handgun while deputies were on their way. Aroyo, who resides elsewhere, previously was in a relationship with the occupant of the home, male, 26. She did not enter the house during the incident.

When deputies arrived, they attempted to speak with Aroyo, who remained on the porch with the firearm, yelling for the occupant to let her in. Aroyo refused to talk with deputies for roughly 20 minutes before she kicked the firearm, which was on the porch floor at the time, off of the porch. Deputies then took her into custody without issue. No one was injured during the incident.

Aroyo is charged with the following misdemeanors:

·         Discharging firearm while under the influence

·         Discharge firearm on/near public highway

·         Reckless conduct

·         Disorderly conduct

·         Obstruction of officer

·         Stalking under the Family Violence Act

·         Public drunkenness

·         Criminal trespass under the Family Violence Act

Deputies also cited her for improper parking.

Aroyo was transported to the hospital for medical clearance before being taken to the Hall County Jail. She remains incarcerated there without bond.”
