In the right place at the right time…

A Buford robbery suspect is behind bars after being arrested by an alert Gwinnett County detective who happened to be in the “right place at the right time.”

Samuel Norman, 26, Buford is charged in connection with a robbery that occurred on January 27 at a Buford business.

GWINNETT CO. POLICE NEWS RELEASE:

On January 27, officers responded to a 911 call near the 2600 block of Buford Drive in Buford. When officers arrived, they met with the victim, who stated that the suspect approached the counter and presented a firearm. He demanded the cash from the register and fled the scene on foot. Responding officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect at that time. The case was assigned to detectives.

On February 4, detectives, with the assistance from several specialized units, were able to review video and used other investigative tools to identify the suspect. A detective canvassed the area to speak with residents to obtain additional leads when he recognized the suspect leaving a residence. Officers approached the male, Samuel Norman (Buford, 26) and arrested him. Norman was charged with Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. He is currently booked in the Gwinnett County Jail.”
