Work at Dawson County’s Amicalola Falls State Park is included in $25 million in grants from the state Department of Natural Resources’ (DNR) Georgia Outdoor Stewardship Program.
The three million dollars will be used to renovate the day use area at the park.
The grant is one of 12 included in the lates round of grants.
One other northeast Georgia project is on the list: $808,500 for the purchase of the Grizzard Tract at Black Rock Mountain State Park in Rabun County.
The money used for the grants comes from a sales tax on sporting goods which voters approved in 2018 as part of a constitutional amendment.
