*Tim Sims, the Interim County Manager in Habersham County, has been named to the position permanently. Sims has filled in on an interim basis since December when Alicia Vaughn left the post. Former Gainesville City Councilman and current Demorest City Manager Mark Musselwhite had been one of the finalists for the job.
*No one was injured in a two-vehicle wreck in South Hall early Tuesday which closed part of Lake Lanier Islands Parkway for a time during rush hour. State troopers said it happened when one vehicle ran a red light and collided with another. The crash happened at the intersection with Atlanta Highway.
