Truett McConnell University (TMU) has created the Clyde W. Turner, Sr. Endowed Scholarship, funded through a gift from Jason and Martha Crane. The scholarship will provide financial assistance to business students, continuing the family’s legacy of faith and support for Christian higher education.
The scholarship honors Jason Crane’s grandfather, Clyde W. Turner, Sr., who attended classes at TMU’s original campus on Cleveland’s town square. Multiple generations of the Turner family have studied or worked at the university, including Jason’s mother, Betty (Turner) Crane.
Jason Crane, a businessman and TMU supporter, said the scholarship reflects both his family’s legacy and his commitment to investing in future Christian leaders. “We are proud to do our part to further Kingdom‑oriented education at Truett, and in so doing honor the legacies of so many of our forebears who’ve walked the university’s halls in the past,” Crane said.
University officials said the endowed scholarship will ensure business students have access to biblically centered education for generations to come. The Crane family emphasized their belief in the value of higher education and the importance of preparing students to carry their faith into the workplace.
Those wishing to honor Turner or support future TMU business students may contribute to the scholarship at tmu.edu/give.
