Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) Gainesville is among the top ranked hospitals in Georgia, according to U.S. News & World Report’s annual listing.
It ranked tenth among Georgia hospitals in a tie with Piedmont Fayette in Fayetteville and Piedmont Athens Regional. Other hospitals in the immediate area that are included are Northside Gwinnett in Lawrenceville #6, and Northside Forsyth in Cumming in tie with Northside Atlanta at #8.
This year the report, which looked at hospitals in every state, introduced regional specialty rankings for cancer, cardiology, heart and vascular surgery, orthopedics, and rehabilitation, in addition to anything from a common procedure, such as a knee replacement, to specialized treatment for a serious or complex illness.
