Gainesville Police say you should avoid northern Dorsey Street as crews work to contain a slow gas leak from a propane tanker truck on site.
Dorsey between Jesse Jewell and Pearl Nix parkways is currently closed to traffic as the area, including nearby residences and businesses, has been evacuated. Those traveling in the area should expect Dorsey Street to remain closed for at least several hours and use alternate routes of travel.
Additionally, parents/guardians with children at the Center of Hope daycare at The Salvation Army, which has also been evacuated, should contact daycare administration immediately to arrange for their pickup.
