Series of domestic violence incidents over 5-day period leads to arrest

A 45-year-old Flowery Branch man remained in the Hall County Jail Monday morning after his arrest early Friday following a series of domestic disputes over a five-day period, according to the sheriff’s office. Timothy Walter Tatum was being held on bonds totaling $47,000.

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE (HCSO) NARRATIVE:

“…deputies charged him with two felony counts of aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act (FVA) and one count of misdemeanor battery under the (FVA)…

Deputies responded to the report of a domestic dispute at approximately 2:45 a.m. Friday… at (his) residence in the 6300 block of Flat Rock Drive. According to the initial investigation, Tatum and the victim, a 34-year-old woman, had been involved in at least two physical disputes at the residence, between Sept. 29 and Friday morning.

During the first incident, between Sept. 29 and 30, Tatum grabbed the victim around her neck with his hands and squeezed. In the second incident, which happened Friday morning, Tatum intentionally put his vehicle in reverse and drove away at a high rate of speed, knocking the victim over. The victim was standing in the open doorway of the pickup truck at the time.

Deputies transported the victim to the hospital to be checked. They also provided her with information on resources for assistance.”
