Lumpkin elections chief resigns

Lumpkin County’s Elections Supervisor/Chief Registrar, Britanni Conner, resigned recently just days before the start of early voting.

The Dahlonega Nugget reports Conner cited “personal health problems” as her reason for stepping down. The county’s Director of Operations will fill the post on an interim basis.

Election officials statewide have been under the microscope by several organizations since the 2020 presidential election when Joe Biden narrowly carried the state over then-president Donald Trump.
