Hall County’s Chief Tax Appraiser Steve Watson is retiring effective Dec. 31.
“I am grateful for Steve’s distinguished service and contributions to Hall County, and I wish him an exciting and rewarding retirement filled with quality time with his wonderful family,” Hall County Board of Tas Assessors Chairman Eric Jackson said.
Watson, who has worked for the office for nearly 22 years, served as a residential staff supervisor from 1985 to 1992 and as has been director and chief appraiser the past 14 years.
“I am grateful for my employment with Hall County, which has gifted me with experiences and opportunities that have been extraordinary,” Watson said. “Working with the professionals in the economic development community has been rewarding, as we have seen Gainesville and Hall County grow and prosper.
The process to select his successor will begin immediately.
