The City of Gainesville is asking residents to provide feedback on its proposed 2026 Annual Action Plan, which will guide how federal community development funds are spent.
The city has been awarded $448,252 in Community Development Block Grant-Entitlement funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Federal rules require that at least 70 percent of the funds benefit low- and moderate-income residents.
Projects under consideration include public facilities and infrastructure improvements in qualified census tracts, a citywide housing rehabilitation and emergency repairs program, and general grant planning and administration. Details on specific activities and funding allocations will be presented at a public hearing tonight on the first floor of the city administration building.
The plan is available for public review and comment through July 18 at www.gainesville.org/180/HUD-Consolidated-Plan.
Residents with special needs related to disability access, vision or hearing impairments, or language barriers should contact Jessica Tullar at 770-531-6574 before the meeting. Individuals with hearing impairments may also use the Georgia Relay service at 1-800-255-0056.
