*REMINDER: A child car seat safety check is scheduled Saturday 10:00-1:00 at Hall County Sheriff’s Office headquarters on Browns Bridge Road next to the government center. Certified child passenger safety technicians from SafeKids, the sheriff’s office and Gainesville Police Department will be on hand to check seats. Bring your child with you so the technicians can make sure he or she is properly fitted to the seat.
*The two candidates for the 7th district congressional seat, which includes parts of Hall County, are scheduled to square off in a debate Friday night in Flowery Branch. It will be held at The Depot 6:30-8:00. The candidates are Democrat Tony Kozycki and Republican Rich McCormick, the incumbent.
