With the drought still on the wane in Georgia, the U.S. Drought Monitor’s (USDM) latest report shows there are three stages of intensity in Hall County.
The part bordering Dawson and Lumpkin counties is still “severely” dry, while the rest of the northwestern part of the county is classified as “moderate,” and the southeastern half bordering Banks, Jackson, Barrow and Gwinnett is least affected, “abnormally” dry.
Meanwhile, several counties along a line from Columbus-to-Macon-to-Augusta remain officially “drought-free.”
Meantime, the level of Lake Lanier is 1,066.4, two-tenths of a foot lower than it was a week ago.
