“After a lot of tears, sleepless nights, and one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make… I’ve decided that July 25 will be The Biscuit Barn’s last day open.”
So begins a Facebook posting announcing that the closing of a longtime North Hall eatery is near.
“After my mom passed away, I made a promise to keep this place going for as long as I could,” owner Becky Dover writes in the posting. “The Biscuit Barn wasn’t just a restaurant to her. It was her pride and joy. It was her happy place. She poured her heart into every biscuit, every conversation, every customer that walked through those doors. Everyone who knew her knew her light, her energy, and the love she had for this community.
“The last conversation we had in the hospital before she passed was about this business. She wanted me to keep it going until I couldn’t anymore. And for the last three years, I’ve done everything I could to honor that promise and keep her legacy alive.
“To every single person who supported us over the years — thank you. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for loving my mom. Thank you for loving me through one of the hardest seasons of my life. Thank you for helping keep her memory alive every single day we opened those doors.
“I hope when people think about The Biscuit Barn, they remember more than just the food. I hope they remember the feeling of home, the laughter, the conversations, and the woman who built it with her whole heart.
“From the bottom of my heart… thank you for everything.”
