*Five rural communities in Georgia have been awarded grants by the state’s Center for Rural Prosperity and Innovation to support economic growth and community needs. albanyceo.com reports the grants, totaling $302,000, will fund projects such as a redevelopment study for a former mill site in Chickamauga, water filtration system replacement in McCaysville, a housing study in Stewart County, equipment for the Echols County Extension Office, and kitchen equipment replacement for Irwin County Hospital.
*A cybersecurity concern for the city of Acworth appears to be under control. The city advised through social media over the weekend that it began an investigation when the computer system was first affected two-weeks ago. Cybersecurity professionals and law enforcement were called in to control the incident. Day-to-day operations are continuing as normal for the city.
*Alpharetta is reportedly being considered as a headquarters hub for a multinational financial services company. Channel Two reports Alpharetta appears on a short list Morgan Stanley is discussing in a relocation from New York City. That list includes Dallas, Texas, which is at the top for the company’s relocation as well.
