A federal grant of $500,000 has been approved for the new White County library.
WRWH reports that the announcement was made at a county commission meeting earlier this week by commission chairman Travis Turner who read an email from Sen. Jon Ossoff’s (D-Ga.) office.
The money is being made available through the Fiscal Year 26 Agriculture, Rural Development, and Related Agencies appropriations bill.
The county had asked for two million dollars.
