Falcon Crest Drive is now open to traffic. “Please use the roadway with caution, as work will continue through Monday, July 27,” a Hall County EMA Facebook post says.
4:00 P.M. SUNDAY UPDATE:
“Please be advised that Falcon Crest Drive has not yet reopened to limited, controlled access for residents,” Hall County EMA says in a Facebook post. “Crews are continuing to work as quickly as possible, while ensuring the work is completed correctly and safely.
“Emergency vehicle access is still in place; however, the contractor expects it will be at least another 2-3 hours before local traffic can access the roadway.”
10:30 A.M. SUNDAY UPDATE:
“Due to delays in receiving materials, Falcon Crest Drive has not yet reopened,” Hall County spokeswoman Joy Licciardi said in a Sunday morning update. “The current estimate is to have limited, controlled access for citizens by 3 p.m. today. ‘At-will’ access will not be restored until later this afternoon.”
SATURDAY NIGHT UPDATE:
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the contractor working on repairs to Falcon Crest Drive has advised that the roadway will not open to one-lane traffic until early Sunday morning, July 26, accordingto a county spokeswoman. .
EARLIER SATURDAY STORY:
Hall County crews were continuing late Saturday afternoon their work at getting a culvert rebuilt and Falcon Crest Drive reopened more than 24 hours after the existing culvert was washed away by Friday’s torrential rains.
“Residents, please don’t forget that bottled waters are placed near the construction zone,” a posting on social media by the county’s Emergency Management Agency (EMA) says. “If you have a neighbor in need who may not be able to get to the water pickup station, please lend a hand.
Thank you again for your patience, and thank you to our crews who are putting in extra hours in service to the community!”
