*A woman who was attacked by dogs inside her Columbus home is dead. Muscogee County’s coroner told WTVM the 68-year-old was trying to break up a fight between her family’s pit bulls when four of them turned on her Saturday afternoon. Animal control took a total of seven pit bulls from the property.
*The Georgia Public Service Commission, which has a Republican majority until Jan. 1, has rejected a request to delay a vote on whether to allow Georgia Power to proceed with a multi-billion-dollar expansion of its power generation fleet. Two environmental groups petitioned the PSC to delay the vote until two Democrats who were elected Nov. 4 take office.
*Loud classical music has been making it hard to sleep in an Atlanta suburb. Residents at a senior apartment complex in Buckhead say it continued all night starting last Wednesday. It’s quiet now at the Overture Apartments. Atlanta Police convinced the shopping center playing the music to stop after Friday. The music was being used to stop people hanging out at the vacant shopping center.
