*Georgia Sen. Senator Jon Ossoff says more Georgia veterans are now eligible for VA health care under the bipartisan PACT Act, which he helped pass into law in 2022. The VA has expanded health care benefits for veterans battling various cancers and other conditions, making it easier for them to receive benefits without proving service connection. Ossoff encourages Georgia veterans to seek assistance from the VA and apply for care or benefits through VA.gov/PACT or by calling 1-800-MYVA411.

*A 12-year-old student at Lindley Middle School in Cobb County has died after suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound on campus last week. Police found her in the bathroom. She was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition. The circumstances of how the gun entered the school undetected remain unclear.
