The state patrol Friday released details of the accident Tuesday in which a Hall County School bus was rear-ended on Young Road, resulting in a “complaint” of injury by one student.
The report says the accident happened near Odom Smallwood Road while the bus was stopped, with its “emergency equipment deployed,” to let a student get off. The bus was hit by a pickup driven by a 16-year-old boy.
On the day of the accident, a Hall County School System spokesman, Stan Lewis, said there were about a dozen students on board from North Hall Middle School and North Hall High School. Lewis said the injured student, identified by the state patrol as a 14-year-old girl, complained of “neck pain,” was checked by paramedics, and released to her parents who said they would follow-up with the family doctor.
