The state patrol said Tuesday the driver of one of the cars involved in a hit-and-run accident on I-985 over the weekend remains at large. A spokesman also clarified that the car was left at the scene, but the driver fled.
EARLIER STORY. POSTED SUNDAY:
The state patrol says there were no injuries in a two-vehicle accident on I-985 Saturday morning in which one of the vehicles kept going.
GEORGIA STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:
“On August 24, 2024, at 10:52 AM, troopers responded to I-985 NB at mile marker 15 in reference to a two-vehicle crash.
The investigation revealed a Toyota Camry and Honda Accord were traveling north on I-985 when the Camry failed to maintain its lane. The Camry sideswiped the Honda Accord as they were negotiating the curve.
The Accord rotated and struck the guardrail. The Camry fled the scene and was not located.
The driver of the Camry remains unknown, and no injuries reported.”
