UPDATE: County official confirms arrests in animal rescue & a separate case

A spokeswoman confirmed Friday that two people who were arrested earlier this week by Hall County Animal Control are charged in connection with last Friday’s rescue of 100 animals from a Gainesville residence. And that a third unrelated animal cruelty arrest has also been made this week.

As 97.5 Glory FM reported Christmas Eve, Eric Blane Autry, 56, and Lynn Marie Jones, 59, are each facing 88 counts of cruelty to animals. EARLIER STORY: Two being held on nearly 100 animal cruelty charges

Meanwhile, Hall County Public Information Officer Joy Licciardi said Friday the animals from the rescue “are still in the care of Hall County Animal Services.”

And she confirmed that the arrest of Teresa Marie Welch, 48, who faces a dozen animal cruelty charges in a separate case, is also being investigated by Hall County Animal Control but she had no details about that case.  Welch, who was also arrested earlier this week, remained in jail Friday afternoon in lieu of bonds totaling $28,800.
