“Jason William Head, 30, of Clermont, has been charged with hit and run, failure to maintain lane and a safety belt violation following a crash early Tuesday morning in northern Hall County.
Around 1:30… a Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) patrol deputy responded to Jess Helton Road near the intersection of Odom Smallwood Road to investigate a single-vehicle accident involving a Dodge Ram truck. The deputy located the truck, which was hauling a trailer loaded with a skid steer, crashed into an embankment. The driver was not on scene.
The deputy was able to determine Head was the owner of the vehicle. He located Head at a residence on Hubert Stephens Road. The investigation determined Head had been driving the truck, drove off the roadway and then walked home, abandoning the wrecked vehicle.
Head suffered minor injuries in the crash. Once he was medically cleared at the hospital, Head was transported to the Hall County Jail. At last check, he remains in jail on a bond of $5,960.”
