Gainesville Police said Sunday they responded to a mid-afternoon shooting Saturday at Ridgecrest Apartments that left one person critically wounded.
“A 16-year-old Gwinnett County teen allegedly travelled to Gainesville for what investigators have described as criminal activity,” police said in a Facebook post: “During this encounter, the teen was shot in the head by an unknown suspect(s).”
The victim was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center where he remained Sunday night in critical condition.
Police are asking the public to come forward with any information that may assist in the case.
