National honor for 7th-grader; Gville company opens new offices; Biden, Trump set to debate in Atlanta

*A Forsyth County 7th grader, Ashish Bhagavatula, has received the 2024 President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) Gold Award. The award recognizes volunteers who serve their communities through volunteer activities. Bhagavatula, a student at Pinecrest Academy, earned the PVSA Silver award in 2023. Organizations that have benefited from his volunteerism include Friend in Me, RecycleBalls.org, Northside Hospital (Alpharetta), Reycle My Battery, and The Horse Rescue, Relief and Retirement Fund, Inc.

*Gainesville’s Carroll Daniel Construction Co. plans to open offices in Savannah and Nashville, Tennessee. Alan Schuetze, a 14-year veteran of the company, will manage the Savannah office and Grant Chaney will head Nashville operations. The new offices will bring to six the number Carroll-Daniel has throughout the Southeast.
