A 35-year-old man, free on bond because of earlier alleged crimes, is back in the Forsyth County Jail – and his bond has been revoked – after his recent arrest on charges of breaking into the same store twice within a matter of days.
FORSYTH COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE (FCSO) FACEBOOK POST (EDITED TO BREVITY AND CLARITY):
(The first burglary occurred January 26.) The suspect broke the front door glass and took items from the store. This was the 2nd time this had occurred in the month of January. (Investigators learned the crimes had been committed by the same person after they looked at surveillance video from the store.) The video showed the suspect had a distinct walk…and that (his) car…had noticeable damage.
…They searched the area and were able to locate the car and conducted a traffic stop. Not only did the car have the same damage as depicted on the video BUT… it also had a FCSO K9 Calvin sticker on the trunk.
The driver, 35-year-old Tyler Mundy, was wearing the same clothes and had the same body frame as the suspect in the video. He also had the same walk. Detectives also found hammers, window punches and gloves in the car. Also in the car was a red Door Dash bag that could be seen in the surveillance video from the earlier break-in. Detectives obtained a search warrant for Mundy’s home to see if they could locate some of the stolen items from the store, which they did.
Tyler Mundy was charged with two counts of 2nd Degree Burglary…
(Investigators) worked non-stop and had their man in custody within 19 hours of being dispatched to the 2nd break-in.”
