Second arrest made in Clermont vandalism

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE (HCSO) NARRATIVE:

“Property crimes investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) have arrested two suspects for the spray-painting of playground equipment and street signs in the Clermont area earlier this month.

Officials with the Town of Clermont reported graffiti damage to HCSO on Sunday, July 13, after a citizen reported finding black spray paint on the side of community building and on playground equipment located on King Street. Other graffiti damage was discovered on street signs at King Street and Main Street.

The word “TAKE” was painted on all of the damaged property. Investigators were able to determine the word was the Instagram username of suspect Richard Levi Batho, 19, of Clermont. Investigators further determined Mr. Batho and a friend, identified as Andres Redondo-Camilo, 17, of Murrayville, were responsible for the graffiti damage.

Mr. Batho was arrested on Thursday, July 24. He remains in the Hall County Jail on charges of criminal trespass, interference with government property and loitering and prowling. He is being held for an accountability court violation.

Mr. Redondo-Camilo was arrested on July 24. He posted a bond of $1,820 and was released from custody on July 25.”

At the time of the incident, the sheriff’s office reported that damages amounted to around $3,000.
