SCOGA upholds convictions in Suwanee murder case

The Georgia Supreme Court (SCOGA) has upheld the convictions and sentences given six-years ago in a gang-related murder and several robberies in a Suwanee case. The two defendants were also convicted of violating the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.

Issues raised on appeal included insufficient evidence to convict, ineffective counsel, and sentencing errors, with the prosecution also raising questions about the latter. The crimes occurred over a three-day period in October 2018.

The justices were unanimous in upholding the convictions and sentences.
