An upcoming Hall County Commission (HCC) meeting continues to draw attention. That’s the one where plans for a proposed South Hall data center are scheduled for an up-or-down vote.
Among the latest developments is a Pack the Room drive organized by hallinformed.org aimed at filling the meeting room with opponents to the proposed facility.
“This community has changed so much lately and it is becoming hard to recognize what we loved so much about this area,” a statement on the Hall Informed website says. “But regarding this data center, the concerns, lack of transparency and unanswered questions were brought forth by Hall County citizens with determination and clarity before the meeting occurred. United, we did not back down but pressed forward until the voting meeting. Our voices were heard by the commissioners and to their credit, they responded by choosing to table the vote that evening. In this meeting we learned quickly that our request to table this vote had been taken seriously – and learned that some commissioners have our same concerns. Thank you to them.
“We hope to hear from our commissioners as to their findings from visiting existing data centers. It will be important for us to hear about what they saw and what they learned. Only as we continue to have our questions answered will we be able to make an informed decision that is in our best interest.
But now is the critical time. We cannot let up on our quest for the answers that ProjectTurbo did not provide to us. Continue to research data centers, both local to Hall County and across the state of Georgia. “Let’s stay in touch with each other. Let’s continue to share our information with each other and our local community groups. But most of all, let’s stay united and determined to return again to the Hall County Commission voting meeting on December 11, 2025 at 6 p.m.”
But the data center is not the only thing targeted by the citizens group. They also have their eyes focused on plans for a “high density” housing development on Cagle Mill Road which is on the agenda for the meeting.
