EARLIER STORY. POSTED AT 10:00 A.M. SATURDAY:
At least three people have been killed in holiday weekend traffic accidents, according to the state patrol, including one in Lumpkin County and a wreck in Hall County earlier this week closed a busy road for about two hours.
The holiday total is as of 6:00 this morning and also includes fatalities in Gwinnett and Glynn counties.
We are awaiting details on the Lumpkin crash and so there is no other information on it. The sheriff’s office there, however, did issue a traffic alert at 8:15 last night on social media warning that both lanes of Ga. 115 near the Tomato House were closed and would be for a few hours.
Meanwhile, the state patrol has released a bit of information about an arrest one of its troopers made earlier this week in Hall County. “This is still under investigation but this is the only information available at this time. On November 25, 2025, at 6:58pm, Troopers responded to a crash on SR 369 (Browns Bridge Rd) in Hall County. Due to this crash, SR 369 was shutdown for approximately 2 hours,” the agency wrote in an email Thursday.
One driver was arrested in connection with the accident. According to a Hall County Jail report, Andres Lopez Lopex, 36, was booked Nov. 25 about 9:30 p.m. on the following charges:
*Driving while unlicensed or with an expired license
*Failure to maintain lane
*Hit-and-run
He was being held without bond and for immigration authorities as of mid-morning Saturday.
