One person was injured in a chain-reaction crash on Georgia 365 at Lanier Tech Drive/YMCA Drive Wednesday. The state patrol says, however, that the injury was not serious.
It occurred when one of the three drivers who were involved attempted to pass two tractor-trailers that were stopped for a traffic light and struck a second vehicle that was crossing 365. That set off a series of crashes that sent vehicles in several different directions, some of them spinning out of control.
The accident happened about noon.
The intersection has been the scene of several accidents, some serious, over the years, but work is underway on a “flyover” bridge that will eliminate the crossroads. That work began in September and is expected to take two years to finish.
