An Oakwood man is free on bond following what police say was a violent domestic incident last week that included violent attack on the complainant’s dog and son.
Oakwood Police Det. Stuart Webb said Monday that on Thursday around 6:00 a.m. officers responded to 5302 Harwood Rd. for a report of a “physical domestic dispute in progress. The caller stated her former boyfriend, Victor Scott, possibly killed their dog and was pushing their son (around).”
Lt. Webb quoted her as saying she was in her daughter’s bedroom sleeping when Scott, 38, entered the room and began yelling at the complainant. She said the family dog was lying next to her on the bed. “While Victor Scott was yelling at the complainant, he picked the dog up off the bed and forcefully threw him against the wall,” Webb quoted her as saying. “After hitting the wall, the complainant stated that the dog fell to the floor and was not moving.”
Scott reportedly continued to yell at the complainant, threw a perfume bottle at her head, and pushed her son against the wall several times when he tried to check on the dog.
Scott, she said, then left the room and went to his vehicle to leave for work. The complainant said she lived in the apartment with Scott and their three children (Ages: 10,12,17).
Scott is charged with:
*CRUELTY TO ANIMALS
*SIMPLE BATTERY FAMILY VIOLENCE ACT
*SIMPLE ASSAULT/SPOUSES/PARENTS/STEPPARENTS/FOSTER PARENTS
*RECKLESS CONDUCT
A spokeswoman for the Hall County Sheriff said Scott was freed on bonds totaling $17,300 on Friday.
