*A wildfire that threatened homes in northwest Georgia appears to be under control. Flames quickly spread to at least 100-acres in the Armuchee area of Floyd County Sunday. It was only a small grass fire when it first began. Up to 30 homes were evacuated, but everyone was able to come back later when the danger died down.
*COVID cases are up just a bit in Georgia. The CDC reports that more than 200 Georgians have died from COVID since December, which compares to over 120 from the flu since last fall. Actual flu case numbers are far above the COVID virus, but numbers have already shown a large decrease in the past few weeks. It’s estimated that up to 18 percent of Georgia adults have the most updated COVID vaccine.
