A student at Lanier Tech reportedly told a relative employed by ETHICON in Cornelia Wednesday that there was a possible active shooter on Georgia 365, according to the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office and Cornelia Police Department.
That led to a multi-agency response and investigation that included the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, Hall County Sheriff’s Office, and Lanier Tech Campus Police.
But Lanier Tech Police Chief Jeff Strickland says his investigation determined that the report did not originate with a student at the school.
And not long after the call came in, the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office said there was no information of credible threat to the public.
