NGHS receives national recognition for home health

Gainesville-based Northeast Georgia Home Health has been named a Best Home Health agency for 2026 by U.S. News & World Report.

More than 12,000 home health agencies across the country were evaluated, and only 17%
received the Best Home Health designation. The ratings are designed, according to the report, to help patients and families make informed decisions about care by offering an independent look at quality and
patient experience.

“Receiving care at home can make a meaningful difference for patients and their
families,” said Kevin Matson, vice president of Regional Hospitals for Northeast Georgia Health
System – which includes Northeast Georgia Home Health. “This recognition reflects the
dedication of our home health team and their commitment to providing compassionate, high-
quality care in the patient’s own home.”

According to U.S. News, the evaluation prioritizes patient outcomes and consumer
experience, using data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services including quality-of-
care measures and patient satisfaction surveys.
