Two months into Donald Trump’s second term as President and a Gainesville organization is joining the individuals who have been protesting some of his and his Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) cost-cutting actions.
The Newtown Florist Club is planning what it calls “A Call to Action in Response: A Kickoff Celebration, Where Do We Go from Here?”
Scheduled for Monday night at 6:00 on the environmental justice and civil rights organization’s Facebook page, plans are to address these points:
*Support federal workers laid off or fired
*Protect Social Security and Medicaid
*Oppose unlawful spending cuts
*Resist the dismantling of the Department of Education
*Support non-profits whose programs have been disrupted by federal cuts
