A Towns County volunteer firefighter has been arrested on misdemeanor obstruction charges in connection to the case of twin brothers found dead on a northeast Georgia mountain ten days ago.
He allegedly shared photos of the Lawrenceville brothers’ bodies after they were discovered. The GBI Tuesday morning identified him as Scott Kerlin, 42, of Hiawassee.
The twins, Qaadir and Naazir Lewis, were found shot to death on Bell Mountain (pictured), with the GBI suggesting a murder-suicide. However, family members, like Samira Brawner, the brothers’ aunt, tell Atlanta News First they don’t believe it.
The GBI said Monday a GBI medical examiner has completed the autopsies, but the official medical examiner ruling and results are pending additional forensic tests.
