More Trump elections case fallout; Ga. porch piracy ranking; A Ga. Power promise

*The end of the Trump election interference case could cost Fulton County millions of dollars. The AJC reports Donald Trump has spent around five-and-a-half million dollars of campaign finances from his political action committees on legal fees. An attorney says they’ll be seeking legal fees from the inception of the case until its dismissal. Another two million dollars was used by the state Republican Party to pay legal fees for other defendants.  

*It’s the peak season for porch pirates and a new report says Georgia ranks among the worst states for package theft. Spokeswoman Sharyn Ghacham says Amazon’s survey shows Georgia ranks 8th in nation for porch piracy. Ghacham tells WSAV thieves typically strike between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., frequently snatching deliveries shortly after they arrive.

*Georgia Power says there will be no rate increase for customers after the company proposed adding 10-thousand megawatts of energy to help run data centers. An advisory board has warned that rates could increase as much as $20 dollars a month if the Public Service Commission approves the energy boost. The five member all Republican board plans to vote on the proposal December 19. The new board, which will include two Democrats who were elected last month, is set to be seated in January.
