Second victim in shooting blamed on Jefferson man dies

A second victim of the triple-shooting in Athens which led to jailing of a Jefferson man has died. Georgia News Network reports that Dylan Bentley, 19, died Sunday. 22-year-old Clayton Adams of Hull died Saturday just hours after the shooting. Authorities now say it happened in a downtown parking deck on North Jackson Street but are still not discussing a possible motive. The suspect, Mark Desousa, remained in jail early Monday.

A Jackson County man has been charged with a triple shooting in Athens early Saturday that left one person dead and two others critically wounded.

Athens-Clarke County Police say Mark Desousa, 22, Jefferson, has been charged with malice murder, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery. The incident happened about 2:20 on North Jackson Street. Killed was Clayton Adams of Hull.

Police have not said what might have led to the shooting.
