High school coach facing DUI, other traffic-related charges

The boys head basketball coach at Cherokee Bluff High School is facing a number of traffic-related charges, including DUI, following his arrest last week by a state trooper.

Hall County Jail records show that Josh Travis, 46, was arrested about 11:00 p.m. Monday, March 24. In addition to DUI, Travis was charged with failure to allow an emergency vehicle to pass, speeding, and failure to use his seat belt.

He was released the next morning about 3:45.

Hall County school officials are not commenting on Travis’ arrest pending any disciplinary action, saying it is a “personnel matter.”
