HCSO: Series of thefts totaling $2,000+ ends with S. Hall woman in jail

A South Hall woman has been charged with stealing more than $2,000 from her employer, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NARRATIVE:

“Nicole Elizabeth Bowers, 37, of Oakwood, was arrested Monday…on warrants for theft by taking, theft by conversion and forgery in the fourth degree.

The investigation began March 3…after the victim called the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) to report a series of thefts from The Oaks Miniature Golf, a business he owns.

The victim told investigators he believed a former employee, identified as Ms. Bowers, was responsible for the thefts.

During the course of the investigation, HCSO determined Ms. Bowers had stolen a check from the business, which she later used to pay for a vehicle repair, and three deposit checks from customers of the business, which she deposited into her personal bank account. In addition, the investigation determined Ms. Bowers stole various items from the victim, including jewelry, coins and a small bag of Canadian and British currency, and pawned the items at a local pawn shop. The total theft amount was just over $2,500.

At last check, Ms. Bowers remained in the Hall County Jail with a bond of $10,900.”
