HCSO: Inmate attempts suicide; identity theft reported; murder suspect moved

*An inmate at the Hall County Jail attempted to hang himself with a sheet in a shower area at the jail. After he was removed the sheet, a jail nurse evaluated him for injuries. A spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office says he was placed in isolation under frequent observation and will be evaluated by a mental health practitioner.

*A woman asked for a deputy to take a report regarding the unauthorized use of her social security number. It appears the woman’s name and number were used by someone to obtain jobs through a staffing agency. The victim became aware of the issue when Medicaid alerted her that she was about to lose her insurance because she was making too much money.

*The Atlanta murder suspect who was arrested in Gainesville Tuesday is no longer in the Hall County Jail. A sheriff’s office spokeswoman said Friday Anthony Fowler, 47, was picked up by DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies Thursday.
