A Gainesville woman remained in the Hall County Jail Tuesday afternoon following a weekend incident in which she allegedly damaged doors and windows of an elderly woman’s home on Mountain View Road.
HCSO NARRATIVE:
“Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies arrived at the scene just after 8:15 a.m. to investigate what had first been reported as a burglary in progress. They found the 84-year-old victim outside her residence. The suspect, identified as Adriana Munoz, 43, was at the scene as well. A neighbor had found Munoz outside the house and ordered her to stay until the law enforcement arrived.
Deputies surveyed the scene and found broken glass in several areas and damage to multiple exterior doors. Total damage to the residence was estimated at just over $2,600. In addition, a 2011 Toyota Camry had been scratched and the windshield and driver-side mirror had both been broken; the damage estimate for the vehicle had not been determined at the time of the report. Deputies determined Munoz used a pickax and a hammer she had retrieved from a shed on the property to damage the house and the car.
Investigators said Munoz did not know the victim, and they are unclear what led Munoz to target the house.
She was charged with four counts of criminal damage to property in the second degree and seven counts of criminal trespass. Her bond has been set at $7,150.”
