HCSO: Drug trafficking among 15 charges filed following traffic stop

Hall County sheriff’s deputies confiscated drugs and arrested three people during a traffic stop in the northwest portion of the county earlier this week.

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE (HCSO) NARRATIVE:

“Deputies stopped a 2014 Toyota Corolla for a suspended tag at approximately 11 p.m. on Monday…at Price Road and Cool Springs Road. They spoke with the driver, Matthew Lee Berry, 35, of Gainesville, who was driving with a suspended license and tag. Deputies placed Berry under arrest for the traffic offenses and found needles in his pocket.

Deputies then talked with Berry’s passengers, John Henry Estrada, 69, and Chrisie Annette Lundquist, 37, both of Gainesville. Deputies searched Berry’s car and seized more than 45 grams of morphine, approximately four grams of methamphetamine, roughly 7 grams of THC wax, an open container of liqueur, less than an ounce of marijuana and a glass bong.

Following the initial investigation, deputies also arrested Estrada and Lundquist. Deputies charged all three individuals with various drug offenses. The suspects’ charges are as follows:

MATTHEW LEE BERRY

  • Trafficking a schedule II drug (felony)
  • Possession of a schedule II drug (felony)
  • Possession of methamphetamine (felony)
  • Possession of drug-related objects (misdemeanor)
  • Open container violation while operating motor vehicle
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Driving while license suspended/revoked
  • Driving with a suspended tag

JOHN HENRY ESTRADA

  • Trafficking a schedule II drug (felony)
  • Possession of methamphetamine (felony)
  • Possession of a schedule I drug (felony)
  • Possession of drug-related objects (misdemeanor)

CHRISIE ANNETTE LUNDQUIST

  • Trafficking a schedule II drug (felony)
  • Possession of methamphetamine (felony)Drug

Deputies transported all three suspects to the Hall County Jail, where they remained held without bond on Wednesday morning…”
