Has heat wave reached its peak?

It would appear from the latest forecast and information from the weather service that the days-long heat wave that has its grip on the southeast may have reached it peak.

“Tired of the heat and humidity?” the National Weather Service (NWS) at Peachtree City office asks on its Facebook page, “then here is something you can look forward to! A cold front should arrive in Georgia in time for the weekend, and as a result our forecast favors below average temperatures Saturday and Sunday.” #gawx

But first things first.

Another Heat Advisory is in effect for most of Georgia again today with more triple-digit heat indexes expected as well.

Gainesville’s high yesterday was 97 and the heat index topped out at 102.
