The Hall County Animal Shelter (HCAS) is getting into the “dating” game. At least for the rest of the month. After all, it is the month for Valentine’s Day.
HALL CO. NEWS RELEASE:
“the shelter is offering pets and their potential families an opportunity to fall in love throughout the month of February with its “Shelter Speed Dating” initiative.
“Our ‘Shelter Speed Dating’ event is an amazing opportunity for people looking to adopt or simply spend the day with one of our adoptable dogs,” shelter Manager Stephanie Maloch said. “There is no better way to get to know one of our animals than by spending one-on-one, quality time with each other outside of the shelter so you can better determine whether you are a perfect match.”
As part of the “Shelter Speed Dating” initiative, dog lovers can participate in “Doggy Day Out,” which allows citizens to take one of the shelter’s adoptable dogs out for the day, helping to socialize the dogs and get them one step closer to finding a forever home before making a lifelong commitment. To participate, you must register as a volunteer with the Hall County Animal Shelter.
“For those seeking a more long-term bonding experience, we recommend participating in our ‘Foster to Adopt’ program. This program allows you to temporarily bring a shelter pet into your home, with the option to adopt once the relationship is established between the pet and potential pet owner,” Maloch said. “The process is a little bit different because citizens will have to be registered as an approved foster and meet all requirements before they can take a pet home, but we will help make that process as easy as possible.”
