*Forsyth County officials will host two open houses later this month for the new county administration building on Freedom Parkway: March 18, 4:00-6:00 and March 21, 10:00-noon.

*UPDATE – The GBI has arrested and charged former Jefferson Police Sgt. Jose Marrero, 45, of Pendergrass, with Party to a Crime, Criminal Damage to Property, Violation of Oath of Office, Criminal Trespass, and Terroristic Threats. The charges follow an incident in the early morning hours of Feb. 22 after Marrero and other officers responded to a domestic disturbance call. The GBI says after determining the issue was a civil matter, Marrero continued to treat it as a criminal case, allowing two people to kick in a door, threatened to tase an occupant, and entered the home without authority to do so.
