Following an investigation that began last month, narcotics investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Special Investigations Unit (SIU) charged a Gainesville man with trafficking and sales of illegal narcotics. And county animal control officers have charged him with cruelty to animals.
HCSO NARRATIVE:
“Investigators obtained information indicating Damorie Mandrell Poole, 43, was selling various drugs from a residence in the 2200 block of Barnes Drive in Gainesville.
Investigators executed a search warrant at the residence on Friday (and) during the search…located a felony amount of marijuana (256 grams), cocaine (55 grams) and oxycodone pills (56). The estimated street value of the illegal narcotics was placed at $9,200. In addition, investigators located three firearms (two rifles and a handgun) inside the residence.
Five dogs were living on the property. Hall County Animal Control took custody of the animals.
Poole was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (three counts), possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule II drug with intent to distribute and, trafficking cocaine. Hall County Animal control charged Poole with cruelty to animals (five counts).
(He) turned himself in at the Hall County Jail on Wednesday (and) remains in custody with no bond.”
