Gville man facing 10 drug-, traffic-related charges

Traffic deputies with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Uniform Patrol Division arrested a Gainesville man Wednesday on a long list of traffic and drug charges after they stopped because they say they saw him operating his motorcycle “aggressively.”

HCSO NARRATIVE:

“Just after 10 p.m., HCSO deputies were on patrol in the area of Queen City Parkway in Gainesville when they observed a motorcycle operator driving his bike aggressively, following other vehicles too closely and revving his engine to get them to speed up. Deputies also observed the driver, later identified as Bradley Nelson Hinchliffe, 48, failing to maintain his lane of travel. In addition, he accelerated to speeds of almost 70 mph in a 35 mph speed zone.

Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the area of Banks Street. During the course of their conversation with Mr. Hinchliffe, they observed signs of driver impairment, leading to a charge of DUI. A subsequent search of Mr. Hinchliffe’s belongings uncovered two (2) THC vape cartridges, several Schedule I pills (including oxycodone), less than an ounce of marijuana and a glass smoking device with what appeared to be drug residue. Mr. Hinchliffe also had a handgun in his possession.

Mr. Hinchliffe was charged with the following felony offenses:

·         Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance (THC) – 2 counts

·         Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (oxycodone)

·         Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime

Mr. Hinchliffe was charged with the following misdemeanor offenses:

·         DUI-alcohol/less safe

·         Failure to maintain lane

·         Speeding

·         Aggressive driving

·         Following too closely

·         Possession of dangerous drug – 3 counts
