Gainesville and Hall County offices will be closed Wednesday and Thursday in observance of Christmas. There are a few exceptions:
Hall County compactor sites will offer limited hours from 1 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24, and will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 25.
Hall County library branches will be closed from Wednesday, Dec. 24, through Friday, Dec. 26, and will reopen at regular business hours on Saturday, Dec. 27.
The Hall County UGA Extension office will be open until noon on Wednesday, Dec. 24, and will remain closed through Friday, Dec. 26.
Additionally, the Superior and State Court Clerk’s Office will remain closed to the public through Friday, Dec. 26, to facilitate staff training.
In addition, state offices will be closed Christmas Day and federal offices will be closed Wednesday-Friday.

Transportation, including:
- Holly Jolly Trolley (service will resume Friday, Dec. 26)
- WeGo
Garbage and recycling
- As no garbage or recycling will be picked up Dec. 24-25, Wednesday and Thursday customers’ solid waste will be collected on Friday, Dec. 26. Solid waste collection will be completed as normal for all other City solid waste customers. Please be sure to set your garbage and recycling at the curb by no later than 6:30 a.m. to ensure collection.
